Positions and Job Descriptions

We start taking applications the first business day of the new year.  Positions are generally filled by April 15th.  You must have a valid Passport, License/Permit or Sheriff's ID  to work with us.

New Seasonal & Part-Time Employment Application

Park Director

A working supervisor of other seasonal employees at the discretion of the Park Manager or when the Park Manager is not on duty. Duties are assigned by the Park Manager and include:

  • Assisting patrons, handling complaints, help and notify Park Manager of accidents or disturbances.
  • Aid attendants to open concessions, carousels, bathhouses, etc., and check on them regularly during the day.
  • Assign work to subordinates, assist as required, and check on their progress from time to time.
  • Check activities and reservations and assure that the park is prepared before arrival of groups.
  • Put shelter "Reservation" signs in place.
  • Check daily for any potential hazards and correct or notify Park Manager.

Must have experience working in our Parks.  Must be 17 years or older and have a valid driver's license.

Park Attendant

A park maintenance worker assigned to perform routine tasks to free full-time employees whose skills are needed elsewhere. Duties are assigned by the Park Manager and/or Park Director and include:

  • Cleaning of building and grounds.
  • Mowing and trimming
  • Observe, correct and report any potential hazards to Park Manager.

Must be 17 years or older and have a valid driver's license.

Carousel / Concession Attendant

These attendants are hired to oversee the running of the carousel and concession stand. Routine duties are assigned by the Park Manager and include:

  • To ensure the safety of the patrons on and around the carousel
  • Operating and cleaning the carousel
  • Operating the Concession Stand

Must be 17 years or older.

Ballfield Attendant

These attendants are hired to prepare the ballfields and maintain the grounds and restrooms associated with those fields. Duties are assigned by the Park Manager.

Must be 17 years or older and have a valid driver's license.

Pool Attendant

These attendants are hired to clean and maintain the pools prior to hours of operation and maintain grounds and shower/changing area/restrooms associated with the pool. Duties are assigned by the Park Manager.

Pool Cashier

These attendants are hired to check people into the pool and take money.

Positions and Job Descriptions

Pool Director

This person is responsible for the supervision of the lifeguards and is under the direct supervision of the Park Manager.  He/She is expected to be included in the lifeguard rotation and have the required certifications.  Duties include:

  • Scheduling of the Guards and the Pool Cashiers.  
  • Scheduling in service programs.
  • Performing Lifeguard duties.

Lifeguard

This person is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons including accident prevention in the water and on surrounding areas and the rescue and care of accident victims.
The minimum age requirement is 16 years of age and the required certifications include:

  • Lifeguarding
  • CPR
  • First Aid

Duties are assigned by the Pool Director.

Recreation Supervisor

This person supervises all programs and recreation personnel. Duties include:

  • Organizing and supervising play activities
  • Keeping records and making periodic reports

Recreation Leader

This person is responsible for the conduct of a particular phase of a recreation or summer camp program as assigned. Duties include:

  • Organizing and supervising play activities
  • Officiating games and maintaining order

Recreation Attendant

This person performs routine work in connection with the conduct of some activity or the care of some physical facility while in use. Work is performed under specific instruction but with little direct supervision. Duties include:

  • Maintaining order and enforcing rules and regulations
  • Performing routine custodial and maintenance tasks
  • Issuing equipment and supplies

Official/Referee

This person will officiate athletic games and set up, inspect, and repair equipment in preparation for games to assure safe conditions. Knowledge of basketball, hockey, volleyball or soccer is needed.
