Permits / Code Enforcement
The installation of sewer and water laterals requires the issuance of
an excavation permit. Any excavation within the Town right-of-way
requires the contractor to have a $5,000.00 street opening bond on file
with the Town Clerk. A six (6) hour inspection notice is required to
allow Engineering Staff time to schedule personnel to inspect the
lateral prior to covering the installation. Specifications to meet Town
construction standards are given to the applicant at the time of the
issuance of the permit. If the excavation is on a State or County
Highway, a permit from the appropriate agency is also required. There is
no fee for an excavation permit.
