The Town of Union also conducts fire inspections in multi-family,
commercial, and industrial buildings. Public assembly and public
buildings are also inspected. These inspections are conducted on an
annual basis to assure compliance with the New York State Uniform Fire
Prevention Code. Buildings other than public assembly are inspected once
every three years. Common areas in multi-family buildings are inspected,
however, individual apartments are not inspected unless Code Staff
receives a request from either the building owner or the tenant.
