Duties and Services

Sewer Laterals:

The Town is responsible for sewer lateral plugs from the Town of Union right-of-way (generally 6-10' behind curb line) to the main line in the street. In order to open a plugged sewer lateral the Sewer Department needs access to your lateral through a clean out. All new sewer construction and lateral repairs require a clean out at the junction of the Town of Union right-of-way and the owner's property. Homes without such clean outs are cleaned through the clean out nearest the Town of Union right-of-way.
