Recreation Center Policy

Purpose: The primary purpose of the Recreation Center at Highland Park is to provide a gymnasium facility for the Town’s recreation programs and indoor sports. Prohibited uses include social and religious events, sports lessons and clinics with the intent to profit from the activity or in which fees are being charged in addition to normal membership fees, unless sponsored or co-sponsored by the Town of Union.

Batting practice into a protective drape and using mats on floor

Permitted Sports Items
Soft-soled shoes
Volleyballs
Basketballs
Tennis Balls (clean) and Racquets
Soft Rubber Baseballs
Softy-Balls
Incredi-Balls
Plastic Baseball Bats
 
Sports Items Not Permitted
Inappropriate, Spiked & Black soled shoes
Regulation Hard or Softballs
Golf Balls and Golf Clubs
Roller-skates and Rollerblades
Hockey Sticks and Pucks
Racquetball Racquets
Squash Racquets
Lacrosse Sticks

*Note that although soccer games are NOT permitted, skills and drill training are allowed with restrictions.

Town of Union sponsored and co-sponsored recreation programs are exempt from the above restrictions.
